Haoji "Flying Scholarship" Award Ceremony
-- Million-Dollar Scholarship Program, Creating Shared Value
Originating from Daliangshan and starting in Puge County, Haoji has always adhered to its social responsibilities while pursuing rapid corporate growth, dedicated to the harmonious development of enterprises, society, and nature. As the saying goes, "Education is the foundation of a century-
old plan." In 2013, Haoji officially launched a three-year "Million-Dollar Scholarship Program," with the "Flying Scholarship" as one of its components, officially implemented in June 2013.
For students in Puge County, a nationally impoverished area, it is a rare opportunity to successfully complete high school and pursue a university education. The establishment of the Haoji "Flying Scholarship" aims to focus on the educational development of Puge and help students here fulfill their "dream of attending university." In 2013, Puge County achieved its best college entrance examination results in recent years, with a total of 19 students scoring above the undergraduate line (4 in liberal arts and 15 in science). Among them, Xu Shan, the top student in science, scored above the first-tier undergraduate line in Sichuan Province, becoming the first in Puge County in the past five years!
On July 2nd, the award ceremony for the Haoji "Flying Scholarship" was held at Puge High School. Leaders from the Puge County Party Committee and County Government attended the meeting on that day and delivered important speeches. As planned, Haoji awarded scholarships to the top three students in both liberal arts and science from the 2013 college entrance examination at Puge High School: first place received 8,000 yuan per person; second and third place received 5,000 yuan per person.
During the statistical analysis, we learned that the family situations of these six outstanding students from Puge High School are very unfavorable. Due to financial constraints, their parents work outside the county, and they are almost strictly "left-behind" children. Take Hu Guodan, the top student in liberal arts, for example: Both of Hu Guodan's parents work outside the county. Due to financial constraints, his younger sister has dropped out of school and is cared for by their grandparents. Another student, Xu Shan, comes from a family of four: his parents, sister, and himself. His parents and sister work in Jiangsu, and Xu Shan currently lives alone in Puge. A dormitory at Puge High School is his "home"...
Without gimmicks or seeking fame and fortune, the implementation of the Haoji "Million-Dollar Scholarship Program" is solely to uphold its social responsibilities and contribute in a small way to the educational cause. Haoji hopes to do what it can to give these children wings to pursue their dreams. Haoji further hopes that through its actions, it can appeal to all sectors of society to join in caring for and helping these children, allowing them to fly higher and higher in the sky of their dreams...
