From March 27th to 28th, 2023, the first session of the "Power Integration and Energy Efficiency Breakthrough" Haoji Business School's fifth BEST Instructor Training Camp kicked off at the Shuangliu factory, simultaneously initiating the curtain of the first factory technical control competition. Initiated by the HR training team, this project was led by Deng Tianye, the head of Haoji's technology and quality control, and brought together factory directors from three factories, 28 Haoji instructors, and relevant project team members to jointly promote project implementation.
BEST Instructors have been established for over six years, adhering to the philosophy of helping others to achieve self-improvement while continuously iterating and upgrading. They persist in using performance improvement techniques to drive organizational performance enhancements. This training camp will continue to focus on performance improvement techniques, while allowing technology to sink and create value fission. It aims to create a lightweight performance improvement method - the "Technical Control Code" - for factory teams, leveraging scientific tools and methods to enhance efficiency and gradually cultivate employees' technical control mindset and culture.
01 Technical Control Code - Simplifying Tasks and Empowering People
Ms. Chen Meien, General Manager of Haoji, delivered a speech for the training camp. She recognized the achievements and dedication of the BEST Instructor team over the years, stating that performance improvement is a sustainable project. She hopes that through training, individuals, organizations, and the talent capabilities of the three factories can be elevated. This is also a good medium for continuous feedback, continuous improvement, and driving the entire company forward together.
Technical control aims to achieve the goal of "small technical control with broad application and low input with high output" by simplifying tasks and empowering people. Theory to practice cannot be separated from methods and tools. Through four steps and eight major technical control tools, competency becomes simpler, and high performance becomes easier to achieve.
Training Manager Li Xu explained the four steps of the technical control code through case studies: topic selection, expansion, development, and finalization. Using tools such as the 4E principle, BEM model, and technical control positioning, he restored work steps, analyzed problems, and identified key technical control points.
As a lightweight performance improvement course, technical control addresses problems more specifically and focuses on resolving issues related to simplicity, efficiency, economy, and measurability in the workplace. Additionally, Haoji Business School has launched a technical control competition among factories, focusing on efficiency improvement, technological innovation, and process optimization. The technical control code can be applied to produce outcomes, and all factory employees are encouraged to participate, with no limit on the number of topics submitted.
02 Performance Improvement - A Continuous Driver
Since 2021, Haoji Business School has been promoting the use of performance improvement tools and methods to analyze problems and opportunities, finding targeted solutions. This year, we continue to regard "performance improvement" as a continuous driving force, aiming to reduce behavioral costs and enhance valuable outcomes without increasing resources.
Under the guidance of Mr. Li, the instructors have continuously delved into learning and practice based on their respective improvement topics. They have explored problems, identified gaps, analyzed causes, and selected and designed solutions using the BEM model, guiding everyone to think systematically.
Setting goals, reviewing current situations, mapping key value chains, restoring work canvases, and identifying gaps, the instructors are seeking solutions in the midst of complex work using systematic tools.
Selecting intervention measures, through two days of learning and sorting, the BEST Instructor Training Camp at the Shuangliu factory produced three group topics and one factory topic, covering performance improvement issues related to production, engineering, SH&E, HR, and other related departments. With their learning outcomes and topic assignments, the instructors will continue to explore and practice in their respective positions. The Haoji Business School workshop will also provide continuous follow-up and guidance, anticipating their results while eagerly anticipating the presentations from the Xichang factory and Puge factory!
