The event "Small School, Big Playground - Zhuwa Primary School in Pixian, Sichuan" ran successfully from May 7th to May 10th, 2017. As a representative of Haoji, a joint venture of Nestlé, I was honored to participate in this corporate social responsibility public welfare event organized by the company - Nestlé in China: Creating Shared Value.

As ambassadors for creating shared value in the company, we have been sharing our company's values throughout the event. Nestlé is committed to becoming a world-leading company in the fields of nutrition, health, and happy living. Based on compliance and sustainable development, and with a commitment to society, we aim to create shared value for our stakeholders in the three areas of nutrition, water and the environment, as well as rural development. The concept of creating shared value is not only a part of Nestlé's core culture, but also a guiding principle for the company's operations and management. Over the past nine years, Nestlé's story of creating shared value in China has continued at Zhuwa Primary School.

The friendship between Nestlé and Zhuwa Primary School began in 2008. To help students recover from the earthquake as soon as possible, Nestlé began the reconstruction work of Zhuwa Primary School in Pixian, Sichuan. Since then, this friendship has been passed down through the love and dedication of Nestlé employees. Since its affiliation with Nestlé in 2008, Zhuwa Primary School has undergone tremendous changes in its campus and the appearance of its teachers and students. The school cultivates students' hands-on skills, imagination, and creativity through clay sculpture, allowing children to "grow beautifully and shape their lives with joy." Today, Zhuwa Primary School has become a base of love for Nestlé employees, where their caring actions inspire children to grow up happily and healthily. Every year during the school's Art Festival Open Day, hundreds of children from Zhuwa Primary School eagerly await the return of their "Nestlé family." They sing and dance, expressing their joy in a happy way, welcoming the uncles and aunties from Nestlé back home.

In May of this year, just before the special day commemorating the 5.12 earthquake in 2008, outstanding employees and colleagues from Nestlé across the country participated in the Zhuwa Primary School event. This trip left a deep impression on me, and I gained many insights during my stay. "Your light is the light of life, illuminating our every day..." The sound of angels' voices lingered in my ears throughout the two-day event, accompanying us as we experienced the activities at Zhuwa Primary School. In the singing, our hearts traveled back to the scene of the post-earthquake reconstruction after the 5.12 Wenchuan earthquake in 2008. Although the earth shook and mountains crumbled, the resilient spirit of the Chinese people remained unyielding. In the singing, we felt the love and care that Nestlé has continuously shown for nine years to disaster-stricken areas represented by Zhuwa Primary School. In the singing, we honored the fallen heroes of the disaster relief efforts and carried forward their brave and fearless revolutionary spirit. Today, history has turned a new page, and we, the uncles and aunties from Nestlé, have returned to the campus of Zhuwa Primary School to spend the Art Festival with the children and share a sunny day. Look at the youthful and vibrant dances on the stage, the carnival classrooms reproduced in the classrooms, and the simple and honest smiles on the playground, all conveying the philosophy of healthy and happy living.

With united efforts and boundless love, we Nestlé people feel an immense surge of emotion today, and the power of love fills the campus. Let us continue the relay of love, sowing health and harvesting happiness, guarding the buds of our motherland as they grow vigorously. Giving roses leaves a lingering fragrance in one's hand. Let us wish the teachers of Zhuwa Primary School success in educating their students, and may the students' academic achievements flourish!
